Important Announcement

Picture

We are participating in the debut of the 2021 Twin Cities Auto Show
at the State Fair Grounds, May 15-23.
This is a great opportunity for our club!

We need to have a minimum of six cars there each day for the full day (10a-9p).
It would be great to have all six generations represented each day if possible.
We are asking club members to volunteer to bring their Camaro and/or volunteer their time to staff our area at the show. Bringing your car gives you one ticket for free entry plus one extra ticket for a spouse, sibling, friend, or to share with another club member. Cars must remain for the full day of the show. You may also leave your car there for all nine days. Cover and security will be provided for the event. Please use the links below to sign-up and support your club:

A Generational Thing: Camaro Design Through the Years
Chevrolet designers reflect on five generations of iconic style 02-26-2015

As the Camaro rolls through the final year of its fifth generation, Chevrolet asked five designers who have contributed to the sporty car’s design to reflect on the styling legacy that helped create an icon.
“While Camaro has evolved with cultural and design trends, it has consistently represented the approachable, attainable sports car with an emphasis on fun that’s evident in its styling,” said Ed Welburn, vice president of GM Global Design. “As a result, each generation of Camaro has evoked an emotional connection with enthusiasts – connections spanning 48 years, and five generations.” Find the rest of the article and pictures here:

2022 Chevrolet Camaro To Borrow C8-Exclusive Rapid Blue Paint
BY SEBASTIEN BELL | POSTED ON FEBRUARY 10, 2021

Buried in a paragraph way down in a Chevy press release about the Daytona 500, was a fun little announcement for the 2022 Camaro. It will come in Rapid Blue.
Beyond being a playful shade of light blue, the paint code was also exclusive to the C8 Corvette until now. If you’re curious about what it will look like, tune into this weekend’s racing in Daytona or take a sneak peek here.
Three Chevrolets endowed with the brand’s famed small block V8 will be pacing three events going on at the race track this weekend. All three cars feature a red, white, and blue livery, with the specific shade being Rapid Blue.
For model year 2021, the closest you could get is Riverside Blue Metallic, a much darker shade. Being a sporty car, though, there are other fun colors to choose from. Along with orange Crush, there’s Shock yellow and Wild Cherry Tintcoat, among others.

The 10-coolest 1969 Camaros Ever
By Scott Oldham on Feb 9th, 2021

Launched in 1967, Chevy’s Camaro had a very strong first year. The Bowtie brand finally had a rival for the Ford Mustang, and Chevy sold nearly 221,000 Camaro coupes and convertibles in 1967. Sales increased in 1968 and grew again in 1969. That year, Chevy's pony car got its first redesign, growing about 1½ inches longer and nearly 2 inches wider. GM’s designers also flattened its wheelwells, and added character lines and stamped faux vents in its quarter panels. Many still consider it to be the best-looking Camaro ever, and the one-year-only body style would later influence the designs of the fifth-generation Camaro, introduced in 2010, and the sixth-generation, which remains on showroom floors today.

In addition to its timeless style, the 1969 Camaro was available in a long list of desirable models and with an even longer list of engines, which ranged from an inline six-cylinder to fire-breathing big-blocks. All have become classics. Choosing the 10-coolest 1969 Camaros ever wasn’t easy, but here - in no particular order - are our picks.

2022 Chevrolet Camaro 55th Anniversary Edition Reportedly Not Happening
21 Jan 2021, 17:47 UTC · by Mircea Panait

The sixth-generation Camaro started off pretty well for the 2016 model year, but somewhere along the way, Chevrolet dozed off. There’s nothing more exciting for the ‘Maro beyond the ZL1 with the 1LE extreme performance package, though it doesn’t hold a candle to the Mustang Shelby GT500 and Challenger Hellcat in terms of suck-squeeze-bang-blow.

The biggest of the Big Three in Motor City doesn’t appear to mind that Camaro sales have decreased to 29,775 units last year, which is hugely disappointing if you look at the figures posted by the Blue Oval and FCA. Pardon me, I couldn’t say Stellantis as the automaker is called as of 2021.

Member and Planning Meetings

The Northstar Camaro Club meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month.
Due to the pandemic, meetings are currently held on ZOOM. All members will
receive an email invitation from our Vice President with a link to attend the meetings.
Meetings begin at 7:30 pm.

(We will post here when meetings will return to our usual location at:
Davanni's Roseville, 1905 W Perimeter Dr, Roseville, MN)

The second Tuesday is a member meeting and the fourth Tuesday is a planning meeting. Members are welcome to attend both meetings. Topics include both old and new business, and there is usually a presentation or lively discussion relating
to our favorite subject - Camaro's! This is the place to exchange ideas and get to know fellow club members.
